KeyLab Essential’s streamlined controls give you fast access to the most handy & intuitive elements of your project and sound without complications. The KeyLab Essential is perfect for creating in the studio, or performing on stage thanks to the smooth and responsive hybrid synth-piano keybed in combination with Pitch and Mod wheels, and a Pedal Input for external foot control. You can switch between MIDI notes, clip triggering, finger-drumming, and more, using the RGB color-coded velocity & pressure-sensitive pads.

Interact with key controls at your fingertips with full rotation Encoders, and adjust anything from panning to instrument specific parameters, and the included ultra-smooth Faders allow you to tweak track levels, envelope setting and other parameters on your Arturia instruments. Finally, with dedicated DAW controls, you can switch between sculpting your synth sounds to navigating your session. With KeyLab Essential, you’re in control at all times.

Chord Play allows you to play entire rich, powerful chords with a single key press by choosing from in-built chord presets, or inputting your own custom chord shapes. Scale Mode locks the keybed to one of the several built-in scales, making sure you never play a wrong note again, and setting your playing free. You can even turn chords or selections of notes into moving melodies and rhythmic patterns with the integrated Arpeggiator, complete with Hold function so you can free up your hands.
